Diner en Blanc & Summer ’15 Wrap

Thousands gathered at Canada Place for the event of the summer – Diner en Blanc.

The parisian event is not just a party, it truly is an experience that makes you feel above the clouds. A sea of white, sunset, the west coast backdrop of the city and ocean, and guests toasting with glasses of champagne while surrounded by beautiful decor.

The Social Concierge takes you for a trip in your own city by producing these incredible events that make memories you will reflect on for a lifetime.

Here are a few pictures from my experience, including my outfit details.

Summer Recap

In the blink of an eye days are becoming shorter and colours are beginning to change ever so slightly. How did time fly by so fast?

I was lucky to enjoy beautiful hikes, laid back times on the patio and incredible events the last few months.

Here are some of my favourite moments from the summer captured on my Iphone 6, some I shared online and some snaps not yet posted.

Catch Up

It’s obvious there has been no new outfit posts… or any posts at all lately, however, I do have some positive reasons behind the neglect of the blog!

Besides already having a heavy workload at school, I’ve taken on a few exciting projects and roles.  Lets get up-to-date, shall we?

The most exciting news to announce is my new role as Fashion Stylist for Shaw’s Leo Award Nominated television show Dream Homes with hosts Bianca Solterbeck and Peter Verge!  I started with Dream Homes a few months ago where I did  some producing, writing, editing, etc, gaining knowledge about the industry and strengthening my skills.

Now a new chapter unfolds!  You will see a majority of my styling work come up in Season 3 (I’ll be sure to keep you all informed via social media, so stay tuned!)

To describe myself as inspired would seem like an understatement.  Very happy for this new opportunity and ready to get the creativity flowing- not to mention the incredible #dreamteam I get to be surrounded by!

In more fashion news…

I am in Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed Challenge!  I’m having a lot of fun with the challenge and cheering on my girls that are in it too.  There are three looks to vote for so far, to see the outfits and to vote click here– all you need to do is click the “hearts” on the individual outfit photos.  I will be submitting more looks again!

Switching gears from fashion for a moment, I want to tell you about another project I’ve been working on with co-host, Victoria Levy.  We are working on a radio documentary about RAW Beauty Talks called “Behind Reals.”

RAW Beauty Talks is an irresistible movement forward encouraging and inspiring positive outlooks on life to awaken the soul so we can focus our energy on what makes us genuinely happy.

Myself, RAW Founder Erin Treloar & Victoria #WestCoastHeart

Myself, RAW Founder Erin Treloar & Victoria #WestCoastHeart

RAW is a conversation between real women that are posing without makeup, photoshop and filters in pictures posted on the RAW Beauty Talks website.

Their mission:  “Help women find a deeper level of confidence, self love and acceptance so we can shift our focus from the superficial to accomplishing the unimaginable.”

With our culture so heavily influenced by social media, while keeping up with the fast paced city, it was incredibly refreshing to meet and interview Erin and several women from the RAW Beauty Talks movement.  Hearing their stories strongly puts what is “important” into perspective.  I think what makes the stories most compelling and unique is that we can relate to them on some level, and with that said, shows you are not alone.

I don’t want to give too much away (I want you to listen to the documentary and to go to the RAW website!), however, I will say that it was an awakening perspective that really made me embrace more of what I have- health and a lot of love.

Thoughts ~ The End of Beginnings

While the world was dressed to impress and sprinkled in confetti to welcome 2014, my attire consisted of Victoria’s Secret PJ’s accompanied by my bestfriends, champagne, laughs and music.  It was the perfect way to say farewell to 2013.

Every New Years Eve is overrated and glorified.  Don’t get me wrong, the end of one year and a new “beginning” is something to celebrate, however, the commercial pressure to do something extraordinary is tiresome.  I welcomed the new year with loves who have been my continual light.

newyears1

newyears2

Looking back to 2013 I am thankful for every experience.  Countless ups and downs, personally and professionally.  Each taught me resilience and no fear.

Many people close to me told me I’m taking the wrong route or I won’t succeed, however, that negative energy was transformed into fuel because I knew they didn’t understand my chosen path- it’s not for them.
No matter how big your goals or dreams, you have the power to accomplish them.  There will be people with efforts to discourage you, say you’re not going the right way- and that’s okay.

It’s human nature to be scared of what’s not understood, so you can’t fault them.

In no way have I reached where I want to be, yet;  Each day is empowering having the tool of awareness under my belt.  I can’t find a word to describe enough my excitement for what’s ahead.

photo 5

I decided not to make a resolution for 2014.   I do not need a start time, it leaves room for procrastinating.
Each day is an opportunity to be the best version of yourself.  Happiness and success is YOUR responsibility and when you become aware of that, you’re going to live a fulfilling life from being honest with yourself.  It’s so easy to be distracted by routine and your surroundings.

Silence the noise and listen to your voice.  You will hear more.

photo 4

Love with your entire heart, even those that hurt you.  Use doubts as your strength.  Most importantly, laugh at yourself.  Wishing you all a very healthy and happy New Year.
