It’s obvious there has been no new outfit posts… or any posts at all lately, however, I do have some positive reasons behind the neglect of the blog!
Besides already having a heavy workload at school, I’ve taken on a few exciting projects and roles. Lets get up-to-date, shall we?
The most exciting news to announce is my new role as Fashion Stylist for Shaw’s Leo Award Nominated television show Dream Homes with hosts Bianca Solterbeck and Peter Verge! I started with Dream Homes a few months ago where I did some producing, writing, editing, etc, gaining knowledge about the industry and strengthening my skills.
Now a new chapter unfolds! You will see a majority of my styling work come up in Season 3 (I’ll be sure to keep you all informed via social media, so stay tuned!)
To describe myself as inspired would seem like an understatement. Very happy for this new opportunity and ready to get the creativity flowing- not to mention the incredible #dreamteam I get to be surrounded by!
In more fashion news…
I am in Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed Challenge! I’m having a lot of fun with the challenge and cheering on my girls that are in it too. There are three looks to vote for so far, to see the outfits and to vote click here– all you need to do is click the “hearts” on the individual outfit photos. I will be submitting more looks again!
Switching gears from fashion for a moment, I want to tell you about another project I’ve been working on with co-host, Victoria Levy. We are working on a radio documentary about RAW Beauty Talks called “Behind Reals.”
RAW Beauty Talks is an irresistible movement forward encouraging and inspiring positive outlooks on life to awaken the soul so we can focus our energy on what makes us genuinely happy.
RAW is a conversation between real women that are posing without makeup, photoshop and filters in pictures posted on the RAW Beauty Talks website.
Their mission: “Help women find a deeper level of confidence, self love and acceptance so we can shift our focus from the superficial to accomplishing the unimaginable.”
With our culture so heavily influenced by social media, while keeping up with the fast paced city, it was incredibly refreshing to meet and interview Erin and several women from the RAW Beauty Talks movement. Hearing their stories strongly puts what is “important” into perspective. I think what makes the stories most compelling and unique is that we can relate to them on some level, and with that said, shows you are not alone.
I don’t want to give too much away (I want you to listen to the documentary and to go to the RAW website!), however, I will say that it was an awakening perspective that really made me embrace more of what I have- health and a lot of love.
